December 10, 2025, marked the first Career Day in Medway High School. During the half-day, students had 4 blocks to choose any topic to learn about from current job representatives. This was a great way to spark students’ minds and have them think about what they want to do in college and beyond. By listening to all these professionals talk about their experiences– going into college and their interests, students had the opportunity to reflect to identify similarities to what they also want do with their lives, which helps them plan out their future college options and careers.
Some of the career options covered were:
- Business and finance
- Education
- Healthcare
- Law enforcement
- Forensics
- Photography
- Daycare Education
- Marketing
The Mustang Minute claimed, “With over 60 industry professionals joining us from a wide range of fields, this event was part of our Medway MyCAP initiative, connecting students’ academic experiences to their postsecondary goals through exposure to diverse career paths, personal stories, and real-world insight. At the end of the day, students engaged in guided reflection, helping them tie their learning back to their individual aspirations.” Career day, according to school organizers and Tim Rice, helped students learn about real-world careers to provide them with insight into professional fields. They heard from professionals talk about education and daily responsibilities to help and support students in planning their future path. Career day was a success this year and will be improved on and run again next year!
Varsha Prapagar’s Perspective
As the school year nears winter break, Medway High School conducted Career Day on December 10th. Presenters, well-versed in their respective fields, gave informative presentations on their career journey. These fields include healthcare, government, business, and education among many others! Formatted like our annual STEM Fair, students were able to pick a presenter of their choice for four different sessions, which allowed for exploration of different career perspectives. As a senior, these sessions allowed me to truly delve into various pathways that start within college for my fields of interests. A fascinating example is a presenter who, during his school days, was unsure whether to turn to sports writing as a career or scientific research instead, but ultimately chose research. This truly goes to show that there are so many possibilities for us to explore, something especially exemplified by Career Day. A huge thank you to Ms. Brousseau who helped organize the event, and all of the wonderful presenters that took time out of their day to talk with us students!

Adam Hurley’s Perspective
On December 10, I attended the presentation by two representatives from Wayne J. Griffin Electric Inc. I found this presentation quite informative and helpful to those who would pursue a career as an electrician. The speakers were deeply knowledgeable, offering tips for contacting the company, and giving a detailed description of what the company does. In addition, attendees of this demonstration also received a flyer that detailed the path that employees of the company could follow and what they could expect to achieve. Overall, this was the best career day presentation I attended due to the explanatory and relaxed nature of the display.
