The National Honor Society will be hosting a food drive starting Monday, November 17th, for the local food pantries in preparation for the holidays. Donations will be collected in the morning before school, in the foyer. There will also be a box in the foyer for those who wish to donate during or after school. The food pantries are especially thankful for donations of food during this time, as recipients of SNAP benefits are in extra need. Highly requested items are boxed goods, canned goods, snacks, and non-food items, such as paper towels. Due to the holidays fast approaching, the pantry especially wants flour, sugar, turkey stuffing, turkey gravy, pumpkin, and cranberry sauce. Any donations help, and those in the community will greatly appreciate it.
At the same time, the National Honor Society will be starting its annual coat drive. There will be a box in the foyer where donations of coats can be placed. They are asking for coats in good condition or that are lightly used. These coats will be greatly appreciated as the temperature drops and the conditions worsen.
