On Saturday, September 28th, Meghan Kealey performed The National Anthem in Gillette Stadium for the New England Revolution’s game. Kealey, a member of the class of 2026 received this unique opportunity through an audition she stumbled upon online. After sending in a video of her singing the anthem, she was soon selected as a finalist in the competition. She then received the role after an in-person audition at the 6 String Bar and Grill located in Patriots Place.
Whilst on the field, Kealey notes, “It was one of the coolest experiences of my life. The energy in the stadium was insane and performing in front of 40,000 people was something I’d never imagined I’d do.” Though she thought this would be a nerve-wracking performance, she claims, “I was very calm and just lived in the moment.”
Kealey says her biggest support systems are her close friends and family. With many showing their support for Kealey by holding up posters and taking photos, Kealey says her friends and family “have always been so supportive and continue to be supportive in all my achievements.”
For rising singers and stars, Kealey leaves this advice: “take every opportunity given to you and go outside of your comfort zone, you never know what could come of it.”
