After losing to Bishop Fenwick in the first round of the MIAA state playoffs, the Mustangs were tasked with taking a trip down to Nantucket this past Friday. The team left school early around 9:40, getting coach buses down to Hyannis, even stopping at the Cape Cod Mall on the way down for some lunch before the game. The buses arrived at the ferry station around 1:40, for a 2:00 ferry ride over to Nantucket. The team arrived at the island with plenty of time to spare for the game at 5:15. After no scores by either team in the first quarter, both teams found the endzone before the half making the score 7-7, after a touchdown pass from Senior Logan Keaney, to Sophomore Douglas Dwyer. It was a slow second half for Medway as they couldn’t seem to find the endzone, and neither could Nantucket for most of it. However, the Whalers found the endzone late in the game and the Mustangs failed to respond. After a long day of traveling down to Nantucket, Medway lost their last away game of the season 13-7. Even after the loss, the team managed to catch the 8:20 ferry back to the mainland where they would get back on the same coach buses for an hour and a half ride home. It was a long and quiet ride home, arriving back in Medway around 11:15. PM. With that, the Mustangs will now take on Millis for their final game of the year on November 27th at 10:00 AM here at Hanlon field. With a week in between, the team looks to prepare for Millis as they plan to take them down for a great start to their Thanksgiving Day!
