Taylor Swift’s “The Life Of A Showgirl” album was released on October 3rd, 2025. Many people had a lot to say about the album, and few had positive reviews. Here’s mine: I think the album sounds fresh and upbeat. I have loved Swift’s music for a while, and despite the fact that this is her 12th studio album, she has never had any songs like these. With songs like “Opalite” and “The Fate Of Ophelia” making you want to get up and dance, or songs like “Wi$h Li$t” or “Honey” being about finding an innocent connection with somebody, this album hits all the right notes and one of the reasons I love this album is the story behind it. She created this album while on her Eras Tour and included some insight into the tour in the songs and her creative process. She also created many of the songs about her fiancé, Travis Kelce. I have never been a big fan of Travis Kelce or the KC Chiefs, but the way she expresses her feelings through the lyrics in this album makes us see another side of him. Although I love the album, I believe some of her previous work is superior. Many argue this album lacks lyrical depth and individuality. For example, in the song “Eldest Daughter,” she writes about not being “savage,” and many listeners wish she had phrased this in a deeper, more meaningful way. I do wish some lyrics were written differently, but Taylor understands the power of word choice, and I believe if she thinks this is the best way to put it, so be it. Overall, this album was created to give a unique perspective into her life, and since she was so generous to share it with the world, we should be ecstatic for her since she is truly happy.
