It was a great weekend for Boston sports. It really felt like a throwback to Boston sports in the first two decades of the 21st century. Starting on Friday night, the Boston Red Sox played against the Detroit Tigers and clinched a wildcard spot in the playoffs. This is the first time Boston has been going to the playoffs since 2021. In 2021, they made it to the ALCS, but they unfortunately lost to the Houston Astros in 6 games. The Red Sox are ready to be back in the playoffs and looking to be in the World Series for the first time since 2018! They will start the first wildcard game on Tuesday against their old rival, the Yankees. The Red Sox beat the Yankees nine times this year, and they’re looking to make it 11 times by winning two games and making it to the ALDS.
The Patriots looked fantastic on Sunday, easily beating the Jacksonville Jaguars 42 to 13, reminding fans of the days when the Patriots were unbeatable and stoking fans’ high hopes for the rest of the season. The Patriots have found their franchise quarterback in Drake May, and now all that is left is to win games. Their next game will be Sunday night at 8:15 against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday Night Football. Buffalo is 4-0, so it will be a great test for the 2-2 New England Patriots.
