Matt Montana. Michelle Pishchik, Riley Ashok, and Zachary Phillips present at the Innovation Showcase
On May 1st, 2025, Medway High School hosted its annual Innovation Showcase. The Innovation Showcase consisted of students from the PLTW Capstone class where students worked on a singular impactful project for a school year to present to judges, the Medical Interventions class where students were taught about Biomedical Engineering and its impacts on the world, and lastly, the internship option which varied from students working in hospitals and retirement homes to working for IT companies depending on the career path they are interested in. Many impressive solutions to real world problems were pitched by the PLTW Capstone class and judged by many parents and people including the CEO of Project Lead The Way: David Dimmet. The Capstone presentations were exciting and tackled difficult to solve problems, ranging from more fuel-efficient planes to motorcycle safety. These groups were: JamQuest, EZ Rider, Magnijet, EpiAir, Spi-R Interferometric Radar by Riley Ashok, Matt Montana, Zachary Phillips, and Michelle Pishchik who placed third, MossWall by Thomas Bernier, Duncan Graves, and Noah Buckley who placed second, and FelineFine by Sofia Mercier who placed first. Although the students have already presented their ideas at the Medway Innovation Showcase, they will be presenting to a wider array of judges at One8 Applied Learning Hub’s Student Showcase in Boston as a chance to further their projects and take them out of the prototype phase.
Overall, the Innovation Showcase was a great way to portray the tremendous
effort that students put into their projects by demonstrating their creativity and commitment to addressing real-world problems. The Innovation Showcase not only highlighted the innovative spirit of students, but it also served as a step for students to apply their ideas to the real world.
