The Celtics, home of the 2024 World Champions have just been sold for $6.1 billion dollars to the Chisholm group. Bill Chisholm, leader of the group, bought the team off of entrepreneur, Wyc Grousbeck. Grousbeck paid 360 million dollars for the team in 2002. William Chislohm grew up in Massachusetts so he is used to the winning culture of Boston and hopes to keep that going for many years to come. Finding a new owner who is a local is fortunate for the Boston Celtics because it shows the people of Boston that the new management is committed to win and not here to show off his company and run the team into the gutter. The deal is not confirmed until the summer because the league has to agree on it but Grousbeck and Chisholm expect no hurdles. Chisholm also came out with another statement saying that he would let Brad Stevens the GM and Joe Mazzulla the Head Coach do their stuff and would not interfere with that, and that is another amazing thing to come out of an owner’s mouth because the worst type of owner is one that deals with everything and thinks he can run the team on his own. Fans are hoping this new era in Celtics history will be a winning one.
