The defending NBA champion, The Boston Celtics were eliminated from the NBA Cup on Tuesday, December 3rd due to a gut-wrenching point differential loss. If the Orlando Magic beat the New York Knicks or the Knicks beat Magic by at least 37, the Celtics would have advanced to the quarterfinals to face the New York Knicks. However, in the fourth quarter, the Knicks eased their 37 point massacre into a 15 point win over the Magic thus, eliminating the Boston Celtics from the NBA Cup. After the elimination from the NBA Cup, the NBA had to find out what to do with the teams that got eliminated and they decided to add two more games to those teams that did not qualify for the next round. The Celtics got lucky, facing the 9-14 Detroit Pistons in which they won 130-120, putting them at 18 wins and 4 loses. During the game, Tatum sat out, creating minutes for players like Jaylen Brown, Sam Hauser, and Kristaps Porzingus in which they took advantage of and dropped 20+ points each. Tonight Friday, Dec 6th the Celtics will go up against the 11-10 Milwaukee Bucks. We will see how this matchup unfolds tonight between the two dynasties.
